Isabella's Baptism
We had another nice long weekend in Wisconsin...this time for Isabella's Baptism. We arrived on Thursday afternoon - the boys played with Grandma and Amy came over to hang out and ended up having dinner with us. My favorite comment from Amy at dinner (said to me) "do you realize that all 3 of your kids are talking at the same time?" I thought this was hilarious.
On Friday morning we went to watch Grandma play tennis (the boys really like this - ha!). After tennis, the boys played outside and helped Grandpa feed (okay, overfeed) the birds - definitely one of their favorite things to do there. The fresh air helped the boys take good naps and late afternoon Justin's family arrived! Caleb & Sam had fun running around outside with Alex & Zach (and Millie) and we all enjoyed sitting outside and eating a few burgers and brats!
Saturday was rainy, but everyone found things to do inside before the Baptism. We also celebrated Caleb's Birthday on Saturday ...Grandma made a cool Scooby Doo cake (see pics). The boys spent most of the time in the basement..playing pool, Wii and cars. Amy, Brayden & Casey were over most of the day along with Justin's family , and after the Baptism, Calian & Dave were over as well...definitely a housefull!! The Baptism was nice and the boys were extremely well behaved during mass. Sammy actually lasted 45 minutes w/o any problems - a new record!! (and then Calian took him for me) and there was not a peep out of Caleb...he has always been an angel in church and he actually enjoys going!! Isabella did great too...smiling, looking around at all the lights and alittle sleeping. She didn't shed a tear during the Baptism either...she did great - we were very proud of her. :) As you can see, she was still going strong after the Baptism too...very happy to be sitting next to her cake that Grandma made. I should also note that she wore the same dress/sweater that Amy & I wore when we were baptized - very special.
On Sunday, Justin's family was over for breakfast before their drive back to Indy. It was really nice to see everyone and to have both sets of families together again...it doesn't happen much, but it's fun when does! It was still raining on Sunday, so Grandma got out some paint and found some fun things for the boys to paint to keep them entertained during the afternoon - - they really had fun doing this.
Monday was beautiful...the boys played outside most of the morning before we headed back to Illinois. After nice weekends with family, my boys are usually more difficult, but today they were angels and they were the best little buddies. They had a blast together outside this afternoon. Sammy is becoming MUCH easier and alot less naughty....he is spending significantly less time in timeout (only a few times a week!) and is proud of himself for being a good boy. My biggest challenge now: Getting Isabella in her crib. Maybe next week.
