Happy 5th Birthday Sam!

Sam has had a great time celebrating his 5th Birthday. Today he spent a little time at the Sports Core (so I could finally play tennis after 2.5 weeks off b/c of illness!) and then his friend Flinn came over for basically the rest of the day! The boys played so nicely together and had fun playing Star Wars, dancing to Christmas music (as directed by Izzy) and doing a few holiday crafts. They finished the afternoon in the garage - -we turned on the heat and they played tennis against the garage door and then played a little hockey.

Sam's lunch request: quesadillas (cheese & bean), banana & leftover cake that grandma made
Sam's dinner request: McDonald's. ummm, he could've had ANYTHING. He made a last minute change from Culvers to McD's. YUCK. I think he knew this was his one and only chance of getting me to feed him this "food"...and that is why we suffered through a meal there...on his birthday. sigh.
Sam's favorite gifts: Umm, anything Star Wars...books, puzzles, action figures, t-shirts.

Other random Sam facts as he turned 5:
- Is still a really picky eater.
- Is a good little writer...can even write his name in cursive! Has also started spelling out words and beginning to read.
- Is a Bears fan...will still wear Packer attire, but not on Sundays. grrrrrrrr.
- Loves music...singing & playing instruments (especially the piano).
- Is the best snuggler....he loves cozy blankets, lots of stuffed animals and holding hands while he's trying to fall asleep.
- Is obsessed with jeans...for being such a little athlete, you'd think he'd live in sweats/track pants. Nope. Jeans.
- Loves working on projects with Justin...wants to use real tools and do real work.
- Is mad there isn't a ton of snow on the ground.
- Is hoping for more Star Wars toys for Christmas
- Is a great friend...he really pays attention to things people like...even the little things. I think he could pick out food, favorite colors, clothes and a present that is perfect for every kid in his class. Seriously. He could give adults a lesson in this.
- Loves being on a ball field, gym, pool, snow hill, ice rink, tennis court, garden, and granny's house.
