June Fun

Phew - it has been awhile. And I finally feel like I can sit down, take a deep breath and think about what we've been doing the past few weeks.

2 weeks ago, the boys enjoyed another British Soccer Camp (3rd summer doing this camp). These camps are sooo great and the boys had such a good time, met a few more friends and learned a few tricks with the soccer ball. Great week. Hot, but great.

After a week of soccer, we took our first family camping trip w/ the Seider & Fitzgerald families. We had a BLAST. The Seiders have a cottage about 2.5 hours north of our place and we all headed out on Friday afternoon and stayed until Sunday late afternoon. It was a perfect weekend with 2 super fun families. As you can see from the pics, we set up tents outside of the cabin ...and we actually slept in them! Our family slept in one tent - - even Izzy! She did GREAT! The area is beautiful and we had such nice weather....we spent time fishing, hiking and just hanging out at camp. So fun.

We came home from camping to find Justin's parents already at our house! And although they were here for a week, Caleb was gone for most of the week at a camp that is RIGHT up his alley...a true nature camp at Maywood. He had SUCH a good time and was there all day, every day. He enjoyed learning archery, spent more time fishing, hiking, swimming, insect catching and CAMPING...yes, he spent one night at camp! Such a fun week for him. And despite the heat, we had a pretty good week too...Izzy had a dance party at the Y, I watched Levi for a few days so Sam had the perfect playmate over, we spent time at the Sports Core beach and tennis courts and Justin & I hit the golf course with his dad. The boys were happy that granddad was able to watch their golf lessons one night too.

Justin's parents left yesterday morning and we spent the rest of the morning cleaning and getting organized (I had still not completely unpacked from camping!). After we made some sense of our house, we headed to my parents cabin for the rest of the day! The kids fished (Izzy was VERY pleased to have caught a few - finally!) and the boys spent LOTS of time in the paddle boat. If they weren't in the boat together, they were swimming, fishing or climbing a tree. Great relaxing afternoon.

Today one of my best friends was back in town and she and her kids spent the day with us. Great day...kids played at our place all morning and then we took them to the Sports Core beach in the afternoon.

The craziness will continue here, but it's good crazy. The Women's US Open is being held this week at a golf course that is maybe 2 miles from our house. This brings visitors! Kay is coming tomorrow and is staying at my parents...I guess this means my parents will get more visitors - Kay & my family! :) Looking forward to a fun week of family, golf, friends & fireworks!! Happy July!
