Merry Christmas!

Silly Kid

Wednesday, Dec 16th - - with the help of my mom, pack & load up the car and...after a tennis match, head to chicago to pick Justin up from work. Sit in Chicago traffic for...um....1.5 hours listening to Sam & Izzy scream. We meet Justin at Rainforest Cafe...kids are finally happy and I'm so exhausted that I slam cokes instead of alcohol (which is what I promised myself as a reward for the miserable car ride). Caleb, btw, handled the screaming better than I did. No surprise there. Anyway, we really did have a great time at the Rainforest Cafe and it was the perfect break/entertainment for the kids (okay...me too). We arrive at Justin's parents around midnight.

Thursday, Dec 17 - Monday, Dec 21 Christmas with the Webb Family. This trip was different than usual b/c Justin's sisters were there as well -- Teresa & her husband Chris and Erica (w/o her husband Bobby though) all flew in from Texas. It was soooo nice to see them - I really enjoy spending time with them. Caleb LOVED Erica and actually referred to her as his "grown-up girlfriend." He honestly noticed her ring during breakfast one morning and said something about her having a husband. That didn't seem to stop him though.

We were able to spend good time with Chris & Jen's family as well, which was great. They made a trip to Ken/Sherri's house for our Christmas (which is followed by the big Webb Family Christmas at their Aunt Virginia's....like 45 people) and then they invited us all over to celebrate Izzy & Sam's Birthday and to watch football. Caleb and Sam were soooo excited to go to Alex & Zachy's house to play with all their toys and to watch Christmas movies with them.....and I was sooooooo excited to be spoiled with Jen's cooking - - great snacks & super yummy dinner.

We headed back to Wisconsin on Sam's Birthday (21st).....and although that sounds soooo cruel to put Mr. Busy-Body in a car for 6 hours on his special day, we left after dinner so he was only awake for about an hour before falling asleep.

Tuesday, Dec 22nd (Izzy's Birthday) - - we spent this day unpacking, cleaning, errands....oh and celebrating our little girl's 1st Birthday.

Wednesday, Dec 23rd - - more cleaning/organizing/wrapping....but we had a great dinner out with my entire family, including Kay who flew in from Nebraska that afternoon!!

Thursday, Dec 24th - kids opened presents from us in the morning, then the boys put on their snowsuits and headed outside to play in the snow (see pics...their new "thing" is to be pulled on their saucers by the 4-wheeler). We meet my family for our traditional bloodmary/brat/burger Christmas Eve lunch at Mannings Pub (this was one of my grandfather's favorite things...naturally, mine too). We head to my parents afterwards to celebrate with a great Christmas Eve dinner and then presents!

Friday, December 25th - Santa actually thought our kids were good enough for presents. They hit the jackpot...once at our place and again at Grandma & Grandpa's house. I think Sammy paid off one of the elves. We spent the majority of the day at my parents house....eating super yummy food (dad made excellent bloody marys, mom made perfect Christmas dinner), playing games, watching Isabella walk/run, hanging out with family. Amy & her family came over at night (after OUR kids were asleep) to watch football...however, we all ended up doing a Christmas puzzle until like 11:00pm!!

Saturday, December 26th - kids play outside again...the boys absolutely LOVE the snow. We go back to my parents for more family time....oh and food. ;)

Sunday, December 27th -- kids are outside again....I think they put their snowsuits on 4 times today. My parents & Kay stop over for awhile on their way to take Kay to the airport. Sam said a trip to Nebraska sounded "cool"....might have to think about that. If not, we'll see Kay again for 2 weeks in August! Brayden comes over (and uses his snowboard on our hill...and behind the 4-wheeler)...he spends lots of time w/ the kids, snowboards alittle more and then stays for pizza. Izzy is now upset when the boys head outside to play in the snow and she has to stay inside. She literally crawls to the door, pounds on it and screams. It's hard to watch the boys having all that fun outside....today, she had to watch all 4 of them - Brayden, Caleb, Sam...and daddy...playing in the snow.
