The Birthday Kids
We had a fun Birthday Celebration at our house today....my whole family came over to celebrate Sam's, Izzy's and Casey's Birthday. You'll note that the cake (always made by my mom) is a big present...half blue (w/ Sam's nametag) and half pink polka dots (w/ Izzy's nametag). Casey's nametag was not on the "gift" but he doesn't like cake.... he went home w/ a few Christmas cookies to satisfy the sweettooth though.
It was a fun day to celebrate Birthdays and I suspect my family would've spent the afternoon together anyway for the Packer/Bears game. Amy brought yummy snacks for the game, my mom brought the cake and Sam requested tacos, so I made the dinner...tacos and chicken enchiladas.
Sammy loved his cake and was soooo excited about his "party" - - He is happiest when he is surrounded by family. And he seriously never even asked about presents the entire afternoon (he did ask for cake a few times though). And although he never asked to open the presents, he was thrilled with the gifts he received and he happily played with everything for the rest of the night - - and he did a great job sharing his new cool things with Caleb.
Isabella was our first child who thoroughly enjoyed eating the cake on the 1st Birthday. Not only did she like to eat it, but she grabbed it right away, with no hesitation and got all nice and gooey before putting it in her mouth. She tried sharing her cake with family (see pics) but noone wanted to eat slobbery cake off sticky/gooey fingers. ha. She received some adorable gifts, but was more interested in a new truck that Sam received. (sigh)
Very fun day with family....the kids were went to bed exhausted, but also very happy.
