A Fishy Mother's Day

Mother's Day turned into a big treat day for Caleb (and Justin)....we have been promising Caleb fish for awhile. Now, while I pictured these fish (most likely 2 goldfish) in a bowl of water, Justin had other ideas. Justin went shopping for aquariums while the boys and I napped on Sunday afternoon...and after we all woke up, we headed out so Caleb could pick out his fish. He was really excited about his new pets and began taking care of them immediately. While we were paying for them, he held the bag and gently patted it and said things like "it's okay, I will take you home with me" "you're going to come live with me now, okay little fish?" It was really cute.

So the fish now live in his room....out of harm's way (Sam) and they are actually helping him fall asleep. He loves watching them and he talks to them from his bed. He hasn't named them all (5), but one red one is appropriately named "Clifford" (completely his idea) and another one is named "Wubsy" (again, all his idea). He can't quite think of names for the others, but I'm sure he'll think of something.

We had a nice weekend.....Saturday was really nice so we spent the majority of the day looking for new bushes/flowers and getting them planted...yard cleaned up. The boys spent time on the swingset and "helping daddy" with the yardwork.

Caleb proudly delivered me breakfast in bed on Sunday morning and we all had a nice lunch out before naptime/fishtime.

Sam's black eye is healing nicely (ha). It actually never turned black...it turned yellow instead. He has quickly forgotten what happend to him and continues to do things like ride his pony standing on one leg and run full speed with a blanket over his head. This is why we have fish, and not a dog. :)
