Happy Birthday Grampy!!
Happy Birthday to my dad!! Tonight the kids wanted to call him...I suggested we all sing to him together, but they wanted to talk/sing by his/herself. Wow...how different they each were. Sam went first. He sang his heart out...loudly, high pitched, eyes open wide. He seriously gave it his all. Hilarious. Izzy was next...she was so excited to have the phone/microphone, but became shy after only singing "happy birthday to you"..and then just stood there with a huge smile on her face. Caleb was last...he sang so nicely (umm, while looking at his pokemon cards), until the end...when he became opera-singer-like and he stood up, put his arm high in the air and loudly, slowly and very dramatically sang "and many more". So funny. Each of them had my dad and I laughing.
We have had a really good week. The boys are in Art Camp every morning and have LOVED it. They are making such cool things, taking walks along the beach (and picking up craft material along the way), doing yoga, exploring and making some nice new friends (well, Caleb is...Sam has Flinn there...who needs more than that?). And every day I arrive to pick them up, Sam is wearing goggles on his head and has a hammer in his hand. The kid is in heaven. Anyway - super cool camp at the Art Center.
In addition to Art Camp, the boys have each started tennis lessons at the Sports Core (though Sam's tennis looks more like baseball...sigh) - twice a week, and Caleb started T-ball (again, twice a week).
I have not been able to keep Izzy out of all this summer excitement...she stared Playschool today - and was absolutely thrilled to be going! One of my friends does this out of her house...Izzy will go once a week for a few hours. She had a blast today. They walked along the beach, found good rocks to paint and proudly put them in her backpack, along with a fingerpaint masterpiece she created. She did great there and had a blast...and can't wait to go back. Yipppee!!
And on Tuesday of this week, in addition to all the other activities going on around here, Justin & I managed to celebrate our anniversary! It was a beautiful day so we hit the golf course and then went out for a fantastic dinner. Great day, great week...perfect way to start summer!!
